Shifter Slider — Nissan Rogue 2014-2016

Pre-installation:

Park your vehicle in a flat, secure location to prevent rolling. Use wheel chocks if you have them.
Ensure the engine is turned off and keys are removed.
Ensure the parking brake is engaged.
Place your foot on the brake pedal during the entire install.
If you can remove the shifter cover while the vehicle remains in Park, do so. If you must change the shifter position, keep your foot on the brake, the parking brake engaged, and the engine off.

Installation:

Remove the shifter-knob button with a small flat-head screwdriver or plastic pry tool.
Slide the silver cover down to reveal the metal retainer clip underneath.
Note where the clip sits on the shifter stick so you can re-install it later. Remove it with the screwdriver, pry tool, or needle-nose pliers. Set it aside safely.
Remove the shifter handle.
Pry around the corners of the bezel cover—start at the back (black plastic) to avoid chipping the silver paint at the front. It takes very little force.
Lift and flip the cover. To ease access, squeeze the cable clip for the LED-position light and remove it.
Slide out the old slider and any broken pieces, noting its orientation (the center hole is off-center).
Slide the new shifter slider into its place.
Reassemble in reverse order.

Reassembly:

Re-insert the position-light cable.
Flip the cover back over and set it on the center console.
Press down along the edges to snap it into place.
Before you reinstall the shifter stick, insert the retainer clip—make sure it seats securely in its slot.
Re-install the shifter stick, then slide the silver cover back up to its highest position.
Re-insert the knob button, holding the metal pin outward as you push it in. If it sticks, remove and repeat.
Test that you can shift gears smoothly and that the slider moves freely in its slot.
